Abstract

This article is a study of the seven articles of different writers

published in the “Khoj”. Baba Farid is considered the first

Punjabi Sufi poet who was very popular for his mystic poetry

in this part of Asia. He preached the locals Islamic teachings

in local language Punjabi. His message was so powerful and

impressive that not only locals but peoples from different

countries visited Pakpatan to learn and understand problems of

life. After hearing the verses (Shaloks) of Baba Frid, the

founder of Sikhism “Baba Guru Nanak” visited his shrine in

Pakpatan and included his poetry in his religious book “Guru

Granth”. These seven articles are just glimpses of the life and

literary work of Baba Farid in which the writers highlighted

some aspects about a great Sufi Poet of Punjabi language.
