Abstract

The rich literary heritage of the major indigenous languages of Pakistan has wonderful classical poetry, created by many great sufi's of the pre-modern period, dating from mediaeval times down to the late nineteenth century. All these sufi's had promoted the message of peace, love, tolerance and harmony in their classical poetry. In this article i have discussed only two examples of i.e Baba Bulleh Shah (1680-1757) and Shah Adul Latif Bhittai (1689-1752) from two different cultures. Shah Latif and Baba Bulleh Shah both has showed their deep concerns and sorrows for social injustice and sufferings of common man. All the two Sufi poets are the messenger of love and harmony. Both Sufies consistently preached message of unity, peace, tolerance, and love. Poetry of both Sufi's is the best lesson against hatred and intolerance and have a source of awakness against typical ideas.
